William St. Laurent - Chairman, Founder
Over 9 years on the Board of Directors of the St. Laurent Institute. He founded Genomic Diagnostic Technologies (GDT) in order to make investments in promising technologies in Systems Biology. GDT worked with Dan Jones to acquire the assets of Helicos and create SeqLL. Mr. St. Laurent has served as Vice Chairman of the Western Bank of Oregon and served as President, Chief Operating Officer and Founder of Vitech America, as well as founding many other companies in lumber, real estate, all natural food products, agriculture, recycling and alternative energy. Mr. St. Laurent holds a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University.
Daniel Jones - President, Co-Founder
Mr. Jones has over 12 years of biotech industry experience, including over a decade in single molecule research. While at Helicos BioSciences, his responsibilities included applications development, instrument prototyping and validation, customer support, and bioinformatics, as well as sales and operations. Previously, Mr. Jones worked at U.S. Genomics in the Methods Development group and on development of their Trilogy 2020 Single Molecule Analyzer and Direct miRNA assays. At EXACT Sciences he worked on the ColoGuard assay, a non-invasive, FDA-approved molecular diagnostic for colorectal cancer.
Mr. Jones holds a Bachelors of Science degree from Trinity College and has studied Biotechnology and Bioinformatics at Brandeis University and the University of Massachusetts.
Doug Miscoll - Board Member
The managing partner of Ravello Precision Partners which is a hedge fund focused on personalized medicine, (the development of precision therapeutics and diagnostics that address the underlying molecular mechanisms of disease). The fund identifies future leaders in genomic medicine early to invest in accelerate development of promising treatments derived from the accelerating understanding of human genetics. He also serves on Ravello Partners, registered investment advisor that provides discretionary portfolio management to families, individuals and institutions. As Managing Director of Northgate Ventures, he was recruited to initiate operations of this corporate-sponsored venture capital fund. He created infrastructure to evaluate investment candidates, established prospecting and due diligence functions, negotiated stock purchase and management agreements, and organized investment closings. He was a founding member of the executive team and Vice President of K-III Communications sponsored by KKR to build a diversified media enterprise. He was responsible for corporate finance activities including acquisition identification, evaluation, execution and financing; treasury and risk management; bank and investor relations and; monitoring performance of operating companies. Over 25 acquisitions ranging in size from $0.5 million to $750 million were identified and closed.
